Description
Description
35-litre stainless steel mash and fermentation vessel for mead & honey wine – 8-piece set
This high-quality stainless steel mash and fermentation vessel makes it especially convenient to prepare your own mead from honey, ferment it and drain it in a controlled manner. The 35-litre system is designed primarily for beekeepers who want to turn their own honey into honey wine.
The vessel is suitable for classic mead made from honey, water and wine yeast, as well as for fruit mead, apple honey wine or individually spiced recipes. The precisely fitting stainless steel lid with airlock supports controlled fermentation, while the low-mounted 1/2-inch drain tap allows clean drawing off and later transfer.
Prepare and ferment honey wine cleanly
With a vessel capacity of 35 litres, the stainless steel tank offers sufficient space for small and medium-sized mead batches. The large opening makes it easier to fill in honey and water and to mix thoroughly with the included stirring paddle.
After adding the wine yeast, the vessel is sealed with the stainless steel lid. The included airlock allows the carbon dioxide produced to escape in a controlled way while at the same time protecting the batch from unwanted external influences.
The sturdy stainless steel vessel has smooth, easily accessible interior surfaces and can be cleaned easily after use.
Removable sieve insert for herbs, raisins and spices
A particular advantage is the removable stainless steel sieve base. This is especially suitable for mead recipes that use additional solid ingredients, for example:
- Raisins or dried fruit
- Apple pieces and other coarser fruit components
- Herbs and blossoms
- Cinnamon sticks, cloves and other spices
- Coarser peels and plant material
When draining the honey wine, larger ingredients remain above the sieve insert. The liquid can collect underneath and be guided via the integrated tube to the drain tap. This makes racking the batch much easier and prevents coarse particles from passing directly into the next vessel.
The sieve insert can then be removed completely from the vessel and cleaned separately. It is intended for separating coarser ingredients and does not replace fine filtration or clarification of the finished honey wine.
Controlled draining via the stainless steel tap
The low-mounted 1/2-inch drain tap made entirely of stainless steel allows controlled and clean draining of the mead batch. The honey wine can be filled directly into a second vessel, a glass demijohn or suitable bottles without having to lift or tip the heavy fermentation vessel.
Thanks to the combination of strainer insert, internal tube and drain tap, coarse ingredients can be retained particularly conveniently when decanting.
Your benefits
From preparation to draining
Mix honey and water, monitor the fermentation process, and then transfer the finished mead directly via the drain tap.
Easily separate solid ingredients
The removable stainless steel strainer base retains coarser herbs, raisins, fruit and spices during draining.
Comprehensively equipped
Fermentation lock, stirring paddle, hydrometer, measuring vessel, ladle and other accessories are already included in the set.
Extensive 8-piece accessory set
Included in delivery:
- Drain tap made of solid stainless steel, 1/2 inch, with finger heat protection
- Removable stainless steel strainer base with internal tube
- Fermentation lock with matching rubber adapter
- Beechwood stirring paddle for mixing honey and water

The set has been tested for food safety.
Can also be used for brewing beer
In addition to mead production, the container can also be used as a classic lautering and fermentation bucket for home-brewed beer. During lautering, the strainer base separates solid components of the mash from the liquid portion.
However, its main application in beekeeping is the production of mead, fruit mead and other fermented honey-based beverages.

Important application note
The stated volume of 35 liters refers to the total vessel capacity. During active fermentation, the vessel should not be filled to the brim so that sufficient headspace remains for foam formation and fermentation activity.
The vessel is not a pressure container. During fermentation, the correctly fitted airlock must remain unobstructed so that the carbon dioxide produced can escape safely. All parts should be thoroughly cleaned before first use and before each new batch, and disinfected with a product suitable for beverage production.
