With the Opalith marking disc set for queen bees, you can mark your queens clearly and in the correct colour for their year of emergence. The coloured marking makes it easier to find the queen during hive inspections and helps identify her year class.

The set made in Germany contains unnumbered marking discs in all five annual colours: White, Yellow, Red, Green and Blue. A bottle of marking adhesive is also included. The colours are stored separately in resealable bottles and neatly arranged in a storage box.

The small curved Opalith discs conform to the shape of the queen’s thorax and provide a suitable surface for attaching.

Annual colours for queen marking

The annual colour indicates the queen’s year of emergence. The colour sequence repeats every five years.

Instructions for use

1. Select the appropriate annual colour and open the bottle carefully so that no discs fall out.

2. Secure the queen bee gently.

3. Open the marking adhesive and use a marking stylus to take a small drop.

4. Place a small dot of glue on the queen’s thorax and attach a marking disc to it.

5. Allow the glue to dry briefly before releasing the queen again.

Notes: This product is intended for use by qualified beekeepers. The marking glue is suitable exclusively for attaching queen marking discs. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not continue to use damaged products.
